Strong Opinions Loosely Held? Think Again!

This phrase is a cliché overused by tech execs. Rather than being a mark of flexibility, it often detracts from your credibility and confuses your team. Is this just a fleeting thought or a strategic decision?

Shift the Narrative: From Assumptions to Certainty.

Define whether you're working with an assumption or making a decision:

* Assumption: A hypothesis needing validation, scaled to the associated risk.

* Decision: A conclusion tested and confirmed through rapid prototyping and real-world feedback, ensuring alignment and trust across the board.

Too often, I've witnessed executives declare strategies in meetings only to see teams fracture—some follow through, others doubt. This chaos is a drain on resources that could instead enhance customer relations and drive business outcomes.

Adopt a new mantra: "Validate assumptions to make decisions." This approach not only streamlines communication but also fortifies your leadership with transparency and evidence-backed decision-making.

What do you think?
